Summer fairs & outdoor nights in NEPA
Summer is the one season NEPA doesn't do quietly. Fairs, free concerts, drive-ins, and outdoor movies fill the calendar from June through September — plan around them, not around them being empty.
Fairs & free outdoor series
Bloomsburg Fair is the heavyweight — Pennsylvania's largest agricultural fair, in its 171st year (Sept 25–Oct 3, 2026), $8 admission with kids 12 and under free. All summer long, Party on the Patio at Mohegan Pennsylvania runs free weekly outdoor concerts — 19 weeks of live music, doors 6pm. And Scranton Summer Movies in the Park screens films free at 8:30pm in rotating city parks.
Drive-ins under the stars
- Moonlite Drive-In (West Wyoming) — evening double features Fri–Sun, $8 adults / $5 kids
- Circle Drive-In Theater (Scranton) — classic drive-in on the Scranton–Carbondale highway, $9.50 adults
- Mahoning Drive-In Theatre (Lehighton) — a 1949 classic still running 35mm double features, ~$8
- Garden Drive-In Theater (Hunlock Creek) — $7 double features, kids 2 and under free
More warm-weather evenings
Round out a summer week with mini golf and karts at Lahey Family Fun Park (Clarks Summit) or 940 Golf N' Fun (Pocono Lake, open till 11pm nightly). Pair any of these with a free sunset stroll on the Susquehanna Riverfront levee walk in Wilkes-Barre and you have a full evening for the price of ice cream.
